About This Seed
This image was originally created for a very specific moment in the story When God Logged In when the President called Eli an Enemy of the State. But looking at it outside that context, I realized it could represent almost any global emergency.
Something is happening. Whatever it is, it has become serious enough to put political, military, and civilian leaders around the same table while events spread across the world behind them. Beyond that, the image doesn't give us many answers.
Maybe it's a pandemic and they have just learned the virus is changing. It could be the opening hours of a war, a massive cyberattack, an environmental catastrophe, a breakdown in global communications, first contact, an approaching object from space, or something none of us has imagined yet.
What could this inspire?
The title is only one possible interpretation. Decide for yourself what is happening in this room, somewhere outside it, or somewhere else in the world entirely.
A writer might create the story behind the crisis, the conversation taking place around the table, or the experience of an ordinary person caught in whatever is unfolding. An artist or photographer could show us what is happening outside this room, visualize the source of the threat, create propaganda or protest imagery, or take the concept in a completely different visual direction.
A filmmaker or animator might create an emergency broadcast, news report, documentary fragment, or scene showing the moment the world discovers what is happening. A musician or audio creator could capture the tension through music, soundscape, radio transmissions, emergency alerts, or voices from different parts of the world. A nonfiction creator might explore how governments respond to pandemics, wars, cyberattacks, environmental disasters, or other global threats.
Or ignore all of those possibilities and follow whatever the image suggests to you.
