The Inspiration Tree — Development Update
Current revision: 0.28.63
Recent improvements and changes include:
- Expanded site search beyond Creative Seeds, with optional searches for informational pages, blog posts, Genres, Discovery Tags, Blog Categories, Blog Tags, and Discussions.
- Preserved Creative Seeds as the default search experience while adding an All search for visitors who want to search across the site.
- Added more useful discovery options when a search produces no results, helping visitors continue exploring instead of reaching a dead end.
- Added card-style search results where appropriate while using a simpler traditional search-results format for broad searches and Discussions.
- Added searchable Browse Available Genres tools to the Seed creation process so contributors can see the available Genre choices without leaving their work.
- Added a Browse Existing Discovery Tags tool while continuing to allow contributors to create appropriate new Discovery Tags.
- Added coordinated default artwork for Blog Posts, informational pages, Genres, Discovery Tags, Blog Categories, and Blog Tags when no individual image is available.
- Refined the handling of withdrawn Creative Seeds so their place in an inspiration genealogy can be preserved without continuing to display the withdrawn work publicly.
- Improved private My Seeds information for withdrawn Seeds and their relationships.
- Added more deliberate page titles and descriptions throughout member pages, creator profiles, Blog pages, Seed listings, search results, and other site-generated pages.
- Improved titles and descriptions for paginated and filtered pages so visitors and search engines receive more meaningful information about what each page contains.
- Improved creator profile sections and how their individual areas are presented.
- Added a simple Change Password path from My Profile using the site’s existing account workflow.
- Improved the Discussion reply experience so entered content can be restored when a submission needs correction rather than requiring the contributor to start over.
- Improved creator Profile About editing so paragraphs and other supported rich-text formatting are preserved and displayed consistently after saving.
- Cleaned up several remaining pieces of older InspiredBy visitor-facing terminology as the site continues its transition to The Inspiration Tree branding.
